The importance of getting yourself going for the day has to do with how well you start it? Research shows that people who have a morning ritual are more productive throughout the day.
My Personal Morning Ritual
- Wake up and drink 30oz of water with lemon, I’ll tell you the benefits and why it’s so important.
- Brush and floss my teeth, change in to working clothes. Flossing is good health? More on flossing.
- Make the bed, I’ll explain?
- 1 cup of organic Maui coffee with almond milk, read my mail, I only allow myself 30 minutes, for good reason.
- Create a to do list, this helps me in prioritizing tasks. What app I use?
- 5-10 minutes of meditation, 45 walk through the neighborhood.
- Set out my supplement for the day. I take them with my first meal.
Here are the benefits to starting off with water and lemon in the morning.
Helps Digestion. The biggest lemon water benefit may be from the temperature of the water and not even the added lemon. Drinking any water, or especially warm water, first thing in the morning can help flush the digestive system and rehydrate the body. Lemon water also benefits the enzyme functions in your body, stimulating the liver and flushing out toxins, whew!
Brushing your teeth should be automatic but some of you don’t, like my husband who thinks since he has hardly ever had a cavity he is immune to getting bad teeth. We use Tom’s toothpaste because it has no artificial colors, flavors, fragrance or preservatives.
The reason I floss everyday is flossing does about 40% of the work required to remove sticky bacteria, or plaque, from your teeth. Plaque generates acid, which can cause cavities, irritate the gums, and lead to gum disease.
Making your Bed! Here are five good reasons why you should make your bed. 1.) It gives you a feeling of accomplishment. 2.) It creates a positive state of mind as you go to bed. 3.) Making your bed lowers your stress. 4.) It prevents embarrassment. 5.) It leads to other good habits, yet it does.
Why I only allow myself 30 minutes to check my emails or any other stuff? Because as you know it can be addicting to get on your computer first thing in the morning and before you know it half your day is gone.
I usually like prioritizing my time and I highly recommend a good app to help you. I use Google Calendar; it’s free and very efficient.
5-10 meditation-best part. It’s the time to be grateful. It mentally helps the brain function better. It’s also gives you clarity and yeah it’s really good for your entire self to help keep balanced in this crazy world. There is an app I used called Insight Timer it’s the best and it’s free.
45 minute walk this I do because it’s less stressful on my knees but the benefits of walking are all over the page. The research shows walking just 30 minutes a day will maintain a healthy weight. Prevent or manage various conditions, including heart disease, high blood pressure and type 2 diabetes.
It strengthen your bones and muscles. Improves your mood. Improves your balance and coordination.
Supplements, yes I take them. The debate goes on and some believe they are worthless. But I know from my own research and how I feel when I take them, that I am a much happier person when I do. That’s all I’m goin say about them.
